Project Overview

Marcus Construction designed and constructed this 30,051 square foot chemical storage warehouse in Iowa with an attached office for Linn Co-op Oil Co. The pre-engineered metal building is used for state-of-the-art chemical distribution and warehousing. The shop area includes two repair bays that provides plenty of space for large agricultural equipment. The break room in the shop area is designed to serve as a storm shelter to provide safety for Linn's employees in the event of bad weather. There are two drive-thru chemical bays that feature two Mass Flow Meters, eight places for mini bulk tanks, and two weigh tanks. The chemical warehouse area has an interior containment dike that has (10) 5,100 gallon stainless steel storage tanks and a catwalk system to the top of the tanks, has floor space for container storage, and also holds a repack system and floor scale. The warehouse area contains the control room for the operator to run the chemical automation system. Their office is attached on the north side of the building with a Fairbanks Tracker Scale out front. Linn Co-op also has a 24/7 bay that allows their customers access at their convenience.

There are many safety features designed into Linn Co-op's chemical storage facility like their automated sprinkler system and fire monitoring and detection devices, 30,000 gallons of onsite water storage, a dry-hydrant system that can pull 100,000 gallons from their onsite storage pond in the event of an emergency, each area of the building has safety showers and eye washes, interior containment, along with many more safety features.
