Project Overview

Marcus Construction designed and constructed this fertilizer port terminal. It was a joint venture between American Plant Food (APF) and Watco and is used for product being imported/received by vessel and barge. Outbound product is shipped by truck and rail with unit train capabilities. Marcus Construction designed and constructed the 60,000 tons of storage to be elevated six feet above the existing ground level for flood control. The storage is divided into four equal bins, has an extra wide 60-foot-wide alleyway for large loader operations and there are four infloor hoppers for easy product handling. The equipment is rated above 1,000 tph for both inbound and outbound product. All metal fasteners and plates were made of stainless steel to resist the corrosive nature of the products being stored.
