1950's
- 1956 Marcus Construction founded in Prinsburg, MN by Carl Marcus
- Started out building agricultural wood frame buildings
- 1959 Carl built 180 buildings in one year

1960's
- 1961 Marcus started constructing waste water treatment plants
- 1962 Marcus experienced growth and moved their office from Carl's home to a trailer house
- 1964 started interstate fencing and highway guard rail construction

1970's
- 1972 new Marcus Construction office built in Prinsburg
- 1972 started long-standing partnership with Varco Pruden Buildings to supply pre-engineered metal buildings for construction
- 1972 started long-standing relationship with West Central Steel in Willmar, MN, most recent addition completed in 2011
- 1973 Marcus Construction was incorporated
- 1978 started long-standing relationship with Northern States Supply in Willmar, MN, most recent project completed in 2012
- 1978 Marcus started construction of grain bin storage facilities

1980's
- 1980 Bruce Marcus joined the company
- 1980 started highway sign construction
- 1983 first flat grain storage buildings constructed
- 1984 Ross Marcus joined the company
- 1986 built five flat grain storage buildings, Marcus was quickly emerging as a leader in grain storage construction

1990's
- 1995 founder Carl Marcus retired, his sons Bruce and Ross became owners
- 1996 first dry fertilizer facilities built, one for Farmers Coop Oil in Clara City, MN, one for Cenex Land O'Lakes in Elrosa, MN
- 1997 started long-standing relationship with Western Consolidated Cooperative, most recent facility completed in 2012
- Late 90's constructed several manufactured housing facilities in several states for various companies

2000's
- 2001 designed and built the nation's first dry fertilizer mega-plant for Western Consolidated Cooperative in Holloway, MN. Since then, Marcus has built West-Con's corporate office, additional dry & liquid fertilizer storage and a 4 million bushel flat grain storage facility also at Holloway. We also constructed West-Con's 40,000 ton dry fertilizer plant at Twin Brooks, SD
- The West-Con mega-plant thrust Marcus Construction into the fertilizer storage building arena and we continue as the leader in fertilizer storage innovation and construction
- 2006 celebrated 50 years of business
- 2007 built the St. Louis Urea Center along the banks of the Mississippi River for Lange Stegmann in St. Louis, MO, the largest inland urea storage facility in the country

2010's
- 2011 moved corporate office from Prinsburg to Willmar, MN
- 2011 Marcus had projects under construction in ten different states
- Growth has led to two business units: Ag Industries and Commercial/Industrial
- Today we are an industry leader with our dry & liquid fertilizer storage facilities
